Pros

•The IT department is awesome. •Once a month, Tillys brings in massage therapist for a 10 minute massage for each employee that signs up. And the occasional food truck.. which was super rare. Overall that’s about it.

Cons

Where do I begin? •Three days in office and soon enough it will be an entire week in office and no longer remote working. •The frequent turnover and numerous empty positions contributed to a sense of instability and lower morale. • So many unhappy and overworked employees which lead to an unpleasant work environment. •No pay increases or end of the year bonus. Needs better salary. •Poor management at every level. •Minimal onboarding training. Literally will just send you an email with a PowerPoint sheet and tell you here’s your training or just expect you to know. •JDA (if you know you KNOW) it’s terrible software, and Tillys refuses to pay for better software. •AWFUL office employee parking. •Half the office is freezing and the other half is sweating. Uncomfortable temperatures. Over the summer they had an office air conditioner, blow out and a thick smoke filled the entire office, and they made us stay in office working in the smoke. •So many people look at jobs at Tillys HQ as door openers to other roles at different companies and never plan to stay long.

Pros

- Enjoyed working with teens/young adults and building them up into the workforce/ teaching them responsibilities -Policies were awesome, but not always backed by upper management - Always pushing you to be better

Cons

- Upper management did not have equal expectations of stores/ lacked clear communication -PAY, they will pay someone who is hired external far more then they ever will an internal. Doesn’t matter how long you’re there. I was trained from a seasonal, all the way up and made far less than newer peers. They do not see as much value in internals which is so unfortunate for them. Did my 8 years and have a lot of resentment over this.
