Pros
Pay was decent and benefits were good, though health insurance was pricey.
Cons
There are 3 separate divisions of Tosoh in the Grove City location, and this skews their Glassdoor score. Be aware that you don’t know which division is being reviewed because Glassdoor doesn’t differentiate. One is Tosoh Bioscience, another is Tosoh America (corporate), and a third is Tosoh SMD. I can’t speak to the other 2, but if you’re applying for a position at Tosoh SMD, DON’T DO IT! At least half of the upper level management team are corrupt and unprofessional. Just awful, awful people who play politics, gossip, and stop others’ progress in order to make themselves look better. The division is failing financially and has been through at least 2 (possibly 3) layoffs (“reorgs”) in the past several years. After the most recent layoff in early 2018, people resigned in droves, and most who stayed were very unhappy. Open positions are due to their inability to keep people and not real growth, like they’ll tell you in the interview. There is no clear strategy to dig themselves out of the hole, except to hide losses from the board of directors and to show temporary gains by reducing headcount. None of this is apparent during the interview process - the business and people look great on the surface. Don’t be fooled.
