3yTrailstone as a company is highly technical and automation is important throughout the organisation. We welcome all our colleagues to lead change and improvement to our technology systems.
We operate in a complicated and fast-moving technical and business environment, where our technical platforms are closely tied to our financial results. It is essential that all employees understand this environment so that they can balance delivery against, for example, paying down technical debt.
This is especially true for newer employees, which is why we invest in training for technical staff and throughout the company. We also have extensive documentation as well as ongoing projects to improve its quality and quantity.
Our development team works closely with the product management team for product direction but retain overall responsibility for technical decision-making. Technical employees can and do advocate for improving the quality of code for which they are responsible, and regular code reviews are encouraged to build shared understanding of best practices.
We invest heavily in technology as a key competitive advantage, with extensive use of modern cloud and serverless technologies to support our technology platform and quantitative, meteorological, and trading teams. There is ongoing improvement to existing systems as well as exciting new development to support our business growth.
