Pros
My first few months at TrainHeroic were great. I was hired to work on TrainHeroic and loved my team, my manager, and the industry. Unfortunately, I was hired to work for TrainHeroic and then told I was working on their sister brand. Compensation was okay and the benefits were great.
Cons
I feel tricked. Within only a couple of months I was informed I'd now be working mostly on TrainingPeaks, which is a sister company to TrainHeroic. This wasn't the job I accepted. I was actually expected to work on both products for no adjustment in pay. The TrainingPeaks industry is really not my interest at all. The team culture was also terrible with TrainingPeaks. If I had interviewed with TrainingPeaks I would have never taken the job. This happened to basically everyone I worked with except for one or two people. It's like TrainHeroic really doesn't have employees anymore. If you interview here make sure you know who you'll actually be working for. The internal shuffle introduced a new leader over all of the customer teams who was basically absent. He couldn't have picked me out of a lineup after 6 months of being on his team. The new president that oversees both of the brands is also someone I would avoid at all costs. He's very aggressive and seems to make decisions based on random stuff on social media. All of middle management is constantly stressed out by him to the max, and they were the only people who felt invested in the work. Most of them I worked with are gone now. TrainHeroic and TrainingPeaks have a really bad problem with lack of diversity. The leadership group is all men and mostly all former cyclists from the same area. They have all been there for a long time, and if you aren't in with that crowd you won't feel welcome. The founders of TrainHeroic were pretty great, but after I was shuffled to TrainingPeaks I really never saw them. I think they spend a lot of their time on that brand too. Glad I left for a better opportunity.
