Pros
At its core, TrainerRoad has generally been a fantastic company to work for. The people are great and absolutely their biggest asset. The culture is usually very good, although the "core values" are sometimes loosely followed or even leveraged against you. The time off and insurance are particularly competitive, with a pretty loose unlimited time off policy and insurance for employees being largely covered by the company. There is an all-expense-paid retreat annually for full-time employees, usually to an international (for U.S.) destination, although this comes in lieu of a bonus.
Cons
Upper management has become increasingly and frustratingly intrusive, fabricating problems and formulating initiatives over allowing professionals to get their work done. Recent decisions have clearly had a focus on reducing costs, increasing productivity, and maximizing the value of the company. While these goals are obviously important for executives, the outcome tends to be a reduced quality of life for employees. The pay is not as competitive as it once was, with salaries stagnating and raises decreasing while the outside job market heats up. Upward mobility is poor, especially for those who need it most. While management claims to be working on this, there is a lot of room for improvement.
