Pros

Make your own schedule and take time off whenever you want

Cons

Bonus is a sham. I counted about 115 NPs and maybe 12-15 got the bonus. I worked six days a week (five days of home visits and spent one full day finishing charts) and couldn't get anywhere close to the numbers that were expected. I drove all over the Bay Area, including dangerous neighborhoods in Oakland and realized it was a dangerous job to go into peoples homes in these areas.

Pros

Worked with you to provide flexible scheduling options Get a small no-show rate for home visits where patients cancel last minute. Lower stress job

Cons

Income is not steady. Do not feel that pay is consistent and can vary a lot depending on whether you are in the clinic versus home visits. If doing home visits, you get paid per visit, not for the amount of time you make yourself available to the company. If the schedulers are unable to fill your schedule for the day, then you don’t get paid for that time you made yourself available. If in clinic, you get paid regardless of how many people you see can be up to 12 patients, although they initially tell you, you will never see more than 8 patients. Work is very monotonous after a while. You are a glorified coder in the position and will lose a lot of clinical management skills.
