Pros
Great learning & training opportunities. Learn in-demand skill set on someone else’s dime. If you can create impact for your clients then you will be noticed, you’ll be given more responsibility, 100% guaranteed. Good variety of potential responsibilities ranging from pure technical work(ds, de, some sde) to project management, consulting, etc. Do a few different things and gain insight into yourself. Leadership knows what they’re doing and they are generally transparent and available. You can learn a lot from them if you pay attention. Working effectively with offshore teams across time zone and language barriers has the potential to be the single most valuable skill of the 21st century.
Cons
Cons that I noticed at tredence but are typical of consulting: * variability of project & team quality * more attention to one-off impacts, making clients happy and less to process and systems In addition working with offshore can be a headache.
