Pros

Strong mission to support youth in foster care that gives the work purpose, some great coworkers

Cons

The executive staff is toxic and hides behind progressive language to dismiss harm and twist the truth in their favor. They laid off staff this summer and when asked why they didn't take pay cuts, they responded that they had to retain talent (meaning they won’t work for less). But while they enjoy great six figure salaries, they underpay the direct service staff that actually support foster youth. On top of that, they have no clear vision and twiddle their thumbs when it comes to making important decisions. Be careful not to get on the bad side of an executive staff member because they will be rude and incredibly passive aggressive toward you. They say they support lived experts from the foster care system but canned a program with lived experts when it didn't go the way they wanted. There is no clear path to promotion and most of it appears to be based on friendships with executive staff. The admin team randomly gets promotions and new job titles. The development team has gone through multiple CDOs in a few short years and contributes to a chaotic culture within that department. Despite being outspoken against white supremacist culture, the executive team finds ways to engage in it daily.
