Pros

- Strong leadership that navigated a tough pivot from forestry into utilities and came out with very strong product-market fit - Mission-driven culture focused on wildfire mitigation and grid resilience - Excellent engineering and product culture; teams are smart, collaborative, and motivated - Plenty of room to grow, take ownership, and make a direct impact as the company scales - Kind, thoughtful people who genuinely care about their work and colleagues

Cons

- Company went through a difficult round of layoffs during the pivot, which was tough on morale but ultimately necessary for business health - Because the company is now growing quickly, some processes are still being built out and can feel scrappy - Fast pace and shifting priorities may not be for everyone

Pros

The company focuses on a niche area that has an increasingly higher social impact, with advanced robotics technology and solution. It is still in its early-stage days, and hence there are plenty of room for both the company and employees to grow. The people working at the company are genuine, intelligent and capable people, and even with ups and downs given its startup nature, the environment is overall collaborative and supportive. Great for people who have a growth mindset and want to venture out of their comfort zone, and help building something unique and creative.

Cons

The company is still at its early-stage days, and it comes with ambiguities and uncertainties. On a given day what one might work on could change based on the needs, and one needs to adapt quickly. The career path is also much less clear at such a small startup. The work hours is not standard 9-5, and at times evenings and weekend overtimes are needed to deliver.

Pros

Decent pay, unlimited time off, insurance (health, vision, dental, life).

Cons

Treeswift has a very cold company culture. Money very obviously comes before everything else. It's a business, so of course money is a top priority, but they do not invest anything into their employees to ensure good moral, work/life balance, or really anything that has been proven to help keep employees happy, healthy, and wanting to keep contributing to the company's goals. The leadership team has no leadership experience and it shows. Poor people skills - the CEO comes off as robotic at best. It was brought to my attention that he referred to his employees as pawns rather than people. That alone should be enough of a red flag to not work there. The HR lead barely has experience in their role and messed things up regularly. If you're considering working here, I would save yourself headache and heartache - do not work here.
