Pros

Some good people working there, especially the ones who have been around for years.

Cons

Where to begin? Even though it had issues, it (Floway) was a much better company back when it was under the umbrella of the Weir corporation. Since it became Trillium and they decided to downsize the Salt Lake City plant and move its operations to Fresno, things have gone massively downhill. All of the decades of history and the combination of hundreds of years of senior engineering experience from the SLC office was brushed aside, with no real effort by management to retain quality people in Salt Lake or by relocating them to Fresno... between that factor and others, the transition of their product line has been a disaster. Instead of promoting from within and listening to the advice of the people on the ground floor who have worked in either location for many years and know the day-to-day operations, upper management brought in consultants to dictate their own top-down strategies. People out on the shop floor haven't seemed to be paid competitively (against the advice of many of us), so hiring and retaining quality people is extremely difficult. Turnover rates across the board are extremely high, with people being hired and usually not being aware of what they are getting themselves into. From what the people who I still communicate with there tell me, there aren't many people there who aren't actively looking for employment elsewhere.

Pros

Working in the finance department has been a rewarding experience, largely thanks to an exceptional credit manager. He is incredibly understanding, supportive, and always willing to listen and help. The team environment is collaborative, and there's a genuine effort to make employees feel valued. Opportunities to learn and grow within the department.

Cons

Like many finance roles, the workload can be intense at times. Some cross-departmental communication could be improved for smoother operations.

Pros

The only pro is that my site of Trillium Flow Technologies was bought by flowserve so I’m hoping there will be significant needed change around culture and process.

Cons

The management doesn’t seem to understand that salary employment is a give /take relationship where sometimes you’re expected to work more than 40hrs a week and not get paid but to make up for it, you should be able to leave early to even out the unpaid time as long as your expectation are met and your work is complete. Instead they expect you to work 10hrs a day and get reprimanded for leaving minutes early even though you’re working 10 unpaid hours a week. Many cases of overtime not being paid out for supervisors and the PTO is horrible and is not separate from your sick time. You get the state minimum for sick time as your “PTO”. This place is riddled with tribal knowledge held by people who don’t want to be bothered and the training is absolutely horrendous. This place needs serious change in culture and to workflow processes but no one wants change even when it’s for the better of the company. Classic case of a huge company held together hack job excel sheets and tribal knowledge from senior leaders that will all be retiring soon and leaving no knowledge to the new employees who are expected to run the show in their wake. To top it off the ERP system is the worst I’ve ever used with a horrible UI and 0 training.
