Pros
Pay is very good The job is much more relaxed from the military. Still military-ish but more like the parts you didn't mind or maybe even liked. If you get to work with those military and first respond type guys again. Your time off is your time. Great amount of time for the gym. 12 weeks off a year. Very stream lined leave and return back to work process. For contracting the payments are consistent. They offer very nice extra pay a day ontop of regular pay if you extended when Manning is short. Room and food are free. Compared to deployment it will best living conditions you have ever had deployed. Free internet Indoor pool AC in room The smoke pit is still the best place for conversations. Smartest and dumbest stuff you will hear.
Cons
You are gone in Iraq for 4 to 5 months of the year. You can't leave the compound in country. Unless you are on mission. The Healthcare has a limit to what can be done. Limited on what you can do on compound. The room is depressing and Food is ok at best. This is still the best compared to deployment but still deployed. Internet is free but it is very very very slow. You will not have a work life balance. Your balance is gone for months and you love ones are at home.
