Pros

I absolutely loved working for True North. They provide you with excellent paid training. They give you all of the skills you need to succeed within the company. You feel confident and able to do your job to absolute best of your ability at all times. My superiors and coworkers were all nice respectable people, and easy to get along with. True was all around a joy to work for.

Cons

The only con working for this company was that as a regular employee (not shift lead or management) The pay wasn’t all that great. I only made $8.75 an hour, but even so, it’s hard to find a job in this world that you actually enjoy doing. If you can wake up every day excited to go to work then that is a job worth having and keeping!

Pros

They do fix some of the problems with the equipment; fun co-workers and customers at times.

Cons

They talk a good game but they treat their employees shabbily and berate us over the most petty things imaginable. How soon to remove the grounds after the coffee has been brewed (7 minutes?). No details is too small. Where exactly to affix the badges on the green shirt. Every month there is a new issue of company mouthpiece, creatively titled "True Topics". It is full of tedious tips, up-to-the-minute rules, and bizarre orders such as this month's edict that our corona masks have to be a solid color. Other advice included how to instruct the customer to scan their own purchases, the appropriate way to handle cash*, and that we should wash our hands two times an hour. Not sure where they get their ideas; or it may just be cultural differences between Michigan and Ohio but does anyone, in any circumstance, like that much advice? We are told that the right way is the TrueNorth way. All but about two store managers stayed after TrueNorth bought the local gas station chain. The rest walked out after being treated poorly. Our new management may stink because they probably dumped their unpopular people up north, using promotions to banish their annoying co-workers. Anyway, work somewhere else. Even if it is just another brand of gas station! *(Customer sets cash on counter--cashier picks up cash/makes change--cashier sets change on the counter--customer picks change up.)
