Pros

At this time, there’s really not much. The general mood is so sour.

Cons

With the merger, there are plenty of opportunities to shift to a new team/role since they’re doing regular re-orgs to account for the fact that things are so disorganized. The best part, is they shift teams BEFORE figuring out what the new function of those teams are going to be. But the second people finally realize what their new function is, there’s another re-org to solve the lack of progress due to the last re-org. It feels like an endless cycle going on 2 years. Mergers in general are chaotic, but this is a whole new level. The diversity within SunTrust was amazing. The culture was amazing, and sr. Leadership was amazing. Since the merger, it seems you can only thrive if you’re a straight white man. There are leaders who have said and done things repeatedly that would easily get anyone fired on the spot if they weren’t in the “boy’s club”. The culture and diversity is almost non-existent now, but they cover it up by acknowledging corporate articles on black history month and pride month. It’s a joke.

Pros

Great benefits and pay with very good training programs, lots of opportunities for growth

Cons

The culture struggles to figure itself out after the big merger. Lots of senior employees were bitter about younger/new hires getting paid well. Lots of dealing with hierarchal mindsets that get in the way of the actual work.
