Pros
The staff at Tucson College are amazing. They are dedicated professionals who deliver excellence to their students every day, in every way.
Cons
The biggest con of Tucson College is that it is owned by the short-sighted, mismanaged and thankless Delta Career Education Corporation. No growth potential. You better ask for a starting salary you can be happy with for years, because the only raises given are at the corporate level. Company demands results with no resources or support. Benefits are ridiculously awful. $1500 deductible and the premiums will cut your paycheck in half. (Oh, and don't get pregnant, because you'll have to pay your OB $300/month to meet the deductible.) Admissions is mind-numbingly dull, making 100 cold calls to people who aren't interested in your product. The atmosphere from corporate is very much: the beatings will continue until morale improves. You are relentlessly micromanaged. Management has nothing to do but listen in on calls, monitor the number and duration of calls, and demand more. Compliance is rigidly strict, insisting you cannot state facts you know to be true so you look either incompetent or untrustworthy to prospective students. Corporate doesn't listen to feedback or value its employees or students. Caring about the student stops at the local level. If they need additional resources, corporate doesn't care. They only want to line their pockets and set up their next promotion. I have never felt less valued or treated less like a professional in my career. They must think no one but them has a brain. Clearly, the opposite is true. Consistent bad decisions, lack of support, and no rewards for success.
