Pros
5 working- days/ week Option to work from home if and when necessary (but at management’s discretion, usually granted to sycophants)
Cons
Misplaced priorities: This Company seems more like a medical formatting company than a medical writing company, with 99% emphasis placed on formatting. This is a serious morale dampener for good writers focusing on relevant and well-researched content as their efforts go unrecognized. Extended and faulty review process: A single document is ‘reviewed’ multiple times, and the reviewers make it a point to send back the document with superficial comments (formatting). As the reviewers do not go into the depth of the topic, the few (if any) suggestions border on the ridiculous. The reviewers will also make sure to emphasize the writers ‘mistakes ‘to the management to score brownie points, all in the name of ‘improving’ the writer. Inability to differentiate quality work: This company does not recognise genuine, good quality work, but mediocre work done by the owner’s favorites is praised often. A good writer will soon be frustrated as the incompetent reviewers' force changes which degrade the quality of the content. Atrocious HR attitude: Discriminatory application of rules and regulations to different individuals. Some individuals can take leave or work from home as per their desire, but other individuals salary is deducted even when there are casual leaves remaining. The HR also considers itself above everybody else and reprimands medical writers (especially new employees) on their work. Once you resign, the HR will beg you to stay but later will make statements about you being a poor quality employee. Serious salary payment issues: This Company also seems to consider paying salary to be a privilege and withholds it if any issue arises, (such as disagreement with HR/ reviewer), so beware! Salary has also been withheld if someone resigns in the middle of the month (even when the resignation is accepted and the notice period is mutually decided and an experience letter has been issued). Pathetic!
