Pros

In the early days, Twentyeight Health was a place where passionate people came together to increase access to healthcare and make a real difference. Leadership was approachable, the culture was collaborative, and you felt like your work mattered. Unfortunately, all of that has changed.

Cons

I worked at Twentyeight Health for over three years and witnessed firsthand how a mission-driven startup with so much promise slowly deteriorated into a company focused solely on profit—at the expense of both its employees and the very customers it claims to serve. Over time, the company has become unrecognizable. Decisions are now driven almost exclusively by revenue targets, with little regard for their impact on users or staff. Leadership has grown increasingly opaque, dismissive of feedback, and out of touch with the reality on the ground. Talented people are leaving or being pushed out, and those who remain are stretched thin, undervalued, and often silenced. The most disappointing shift has been in how customers are treated. What was once a patient-first platform now feels like a numbers game. The company talks a big game about health equity, but internally, the values don’t match the marketing. It’s performative at best. If you’re considering working here because of the mission, be warned: the mission is no longer the priority. Unless you’re comfortable working in a high-pressure environment where profit trumps people and short-term gains outweigh long-term impact, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
