Pros

Decent exposure to commercial banking platforms and tools.

Cons

Broken Promises: I was hired as a contractor with a promise of a position after 90 days. 60 days in I was offered a spot in a more Sr role but two weeks after, it was rescinded due to a “hiring freeze.” Months later, I was hired into a lower role with no explanation or follow-up on the senior position. • Low Morale: U.S. Bank reported nearly $3 billion in profits by mid-year, yet employees are stretched thin. Thats enough to give every employee nearly 30k each. The company’s “Customer Service Appreciation Week” is insulting, offering pizza parties and thank-you emails instead of real, tangible support. These gestures feel patronizing given the increased workload, lack of sufficient vacation time (I got SIX hours after a year), unaffordable health benefits, and announced changes to office locations on the first day of the "appreciation" week. • Lack of Flexibility: The first day of CSAW, the company announced that they are relocating many offices to a more distant area, (30 MILES DIFFERENT FOR ME) significantly increasing commuting times and costs for many employees. This decision only adds to the burden of working for US Bank. • Expensive Health Benefits: The cost of health insurance is disproportionate to the pay rate, making it difficult for employees like me to afford basic healthcare.

Pros

The pay is market average, and the benefits are quite good. I love my peers. The vast majority of them are kind and talented people. I truly enjoyed my first several years with the company. Well past the honeymoon period for a new employer. And at the time, I recommended this place to anyone I knew looking for a job.

Cons

Management is a mess from the bottom up. The culture of the company has drastically changed over the last several years because of frequent retirements, layoffs, and reorganizations. Employees I know from across describe the same experience: the company has gone from outstanding culture to one that feels openly hostile to its employees. Management decisions are built like cudgels and enforced through all stick and no carrot.
