Faculty are highly protected by unions and tenure and as a result some act very badly. Hiring and firing M&P staff is seen as an easy solution to every problem instead of actually making real changes. Incredible depth of bureaucracy with no real direction or purpose. Politics, politics, politics! Talks the talk on culture but everything is undermined by the constant sense of impermanence that hangs over all M&P who do most of the actual decision making.
