Pros

-Living in Colorado -Working with wonderful nursing staff.

Cons

Pay is not competitive with the cost of living, which makes retention and morale challenging. There’s noticeable tension among providers, and it’s surprising to see such poor collaboration in what’s considered a prestigious healthcare setting. The palliative care team is compassionate and does their best, but they are severely understaffed and limited in the level of support they can provide to oncology patients. Based on what I’ve seen, I personally would not choose UCHealth for oncology care.

Pros

High Acuity patients Maintain Skillset Job security

Cons

Too many patients in a day and not enough time to spend with them. Minimal admin time to manage InBasket and patient needs. Frequently need to juggle a full and complex patient schedule with urgent test results and care coordination. Have to use personal PTO to cover holidays and any time the clinic is closed due to circumstances outside of our control. (weather, power outages, etc) Annual performance Bonuses are now being determined by online patient feedback scores.
