Pros
For an "old school" industry, I was pleasantly surprised to find UFG offers flexible schedules and modern office spaces. The pay and benefits are great and I enjoy working for a stable company that's been around for years. The CEO and other top-level leadership team seem very approachable and concerned about offering employees a great culture and making sure UFG is a good place to work. They are the first to say "hello" in the elevator and ask how you are. For a company this size, it's a wonderful feeling, especially as a new employee. I am most excited about the growth opportunities as we continue to expand. It feels like the sky's the limit at UFG.
Cons
Traditional company dress code means jeans only on Fridays. Parking downtown can get expensive, but UFG does offer some money toward that. It appears there is some micromanagement in a few departments, but that seems dependent on the manager and unfortunately comes across as a lack of trust. The most frustrating thing is that some long-time employees see new employees as wanting to rock the boat and prefer to stick to how they've always done things. A few can be downright rude when a new employee is simply asking questions about the how and why of processes..
