Pros

Good holiday allowance in UK. max 30 days Salary can be ok depending on job role Bonus scheme and commission scheme are generous.

Cons

You are just a number to them. You are pigeon holed so you have to stay in your lane role wise. Which means getting anything done takes ages if you have to go through several people. Salary is supposedly bracketed, but they won't tell you what that bracket range is and where you are in it. Now they are on the stockmarket it's more about shareholder profit rather than client satisfaction Organisation is very top heavy, no project managers or accountant managers so admin have to try and pick up pieces mean alot of unhappy clients Depends on your COU- Systems they use- Salesforce with Oracle, PAS are not fit for purpose and create more admin No interest in team building or bonding dont expect Xmas parties.

It’s great to hear that you felt fairly compensated for your work with UL Solutions and were able to enjoy your annual leave allowance. We recognize that as organizations grow and evolve, some processes can feel complex or siloed. We are always working to streamline systems and improve cross-functional collaboration to better support both our employees and our clients. While our transformation as a publicly traded company brings new priorities, our mission to work for a safer world remains at the heart of everything we do. Pros

- The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

Cons

- Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your thoughts. We are happy to hear that you work in a positive team environment where you feel cared about and that you have been able to gain positive experience. We understand that some may encounter longer working hours, especially during peak periods tied to customer deadlines. Although these situations are time‑limited and part of real project demands, we recognize that extended hours can be challenging and are not something we want to become the norm. We are actively exploring ways to better balance workload expectations, provide clearer guidance around work hours, and ensure managers have the tools to support healthy work practices. We appreciate this feedback.
