Pros

I have been with UL over 9 years and changed few positions. UL is a great company to work for! Safety Mission driven organization makes your life meaningful. I enjoy openness and good communication from our CEO. But you may find opposite from lower level management depending on Business Unit. Like in every big corporation you have many opportunities to grow if you have desire, required skills or education.

Cons

It is hard to advance your career as non-technical support. You may expect great benefit package but I would rate it as average. Depending on location, Business Unit and Management you may find different working environment. Some BUs are very strict and traditional and not flexible at all towards employees. Others are very good towards employees providing good work-life balance, such as remote work options and flexible hours.

Pros

UL solution was my first office job and engineering experience. It did not disappoint, and got me excited for my future, The HR and hiring team were all so nice and helpful throughout my internship. My managers were helpful, patient, and understanding when I had a family emergency near the end of my internship that forced me to leave the country temporary. The internship showed the various departments in the company, not just the one we had applied for. Would definitely recommend anyone to apply for them.

Cons

UL solutions is focused in certifications and safety, so if you are expecting projects involving development and design this is not the place, We had to do a breakdown on products and perform tests to ensure it meets standards of safety.

Pros

Strong brand reputation and credibility in the marketplace. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in sales, compliance, testing, certification, and regulatory industries. Friendly, knowledgeable, and collaborative colleagues who are willing to help each other succeed. Good work-life balance compared to many sales organizations. Stable business with diverse industries and customers. Professional development opportunities and exposure to complex customer challenges.

Cons

Typical large-company bureaucracy can slow decision-making and execution. Internal processes and approvals may require patience and persistence. Organizational complexity can sometimes create challenges when navigating cross-functional initiatives. Career progression may occasionally depend on understanding and adapting to corporate dynamics.
