Pros

-autonomy and you get to make your own schedule 95% of the time -flexible schedule. no hard beginning or ending time each day -get your work done on time and you will rarely hear from your manager -you get to keep all of the frequent flyer miles and hotel points -9 paid holidays a year, plus 2 floating holidays -3 weeks paid vacation a year -opportunity to see many different parts of the US on their dime -potential for bonus -other auditors are nice and willing to answer questions

Cons

-way too many custom audit forms for various clients; it’s extremely daunting in the beginning, even for the most experienced auditor. -several managers with no soft skills, but that is all they preach to the auditors in the field. -accounting that loves to reject expense reports repeatedly for various reasons. -IT issues are a regular occurrence during an audit. -high auditor turnover rate, in part due to being underpaid overall for the amount of travel and last minute “special requests” that never end. -rarely meeting monthly budget due to ALWAYS being understaffed, so the auditors that do stick around are expected to work extra to close the gap. This is a never ending issue. -frequent travel by plane, sometimes with a decent amount of notice so you can plan your personal life, but sometimes not. -being on salary instead of hourly (see two previous comments). -seemingly arbitrary way they decide how much bonus you will get, if any. -bonus only paid once a year -lack of concern for auditor safety while traveling through extreme weather conditions -work/life balance

Pros

- Mission - Work life balance - Pay - Modernization of the workplace

Cons

- Every year benefits are reduced with terrible and tone deaf justifications. - Added benefits tend only to benefit new employees. - Perception that the company does not value long term employees (suspension of defined benefit program) - Poor ESPP discount - Lack of transparency on how AEIP bonus is calculated - Workflow tools are still extremely cumbersome after years of promises to fix them - Lack of enforcement of hybrid work policy. Many people never come in and are never spoken to about it.
