UL Solutions Response
2y
One of the unique things about working at UL Solutions is that we get to see new products before they hit the market. Our customers are some of the biggest and most beloved brands, and they trust us to keep their new products in a secure environment to ensure confidentiality until their products officially launch. This requires our labs and lab employees to work under strict guidelines, like keeping belongings secured. For those working in our labs, that work is hands-on testing, requiring employees to be onsite five days a week to run those crucial safety tests. Across the organization, we have some roles that are fully remote and many others that are hybrid. Just like other organizations, our service offerings are vast and range from relatively simple to highly complex, with job requirements and compensation in line with each position.

Pros

UL solution was my first office job and engineering experience. It did not disappoint, and got me excited for my future, The HR and hiring team were all so nice and helpful throughout my internship. My managers were helpful, patient, and understanding when I had a family emergency near the end of my internship that forced me to leave the country temporary. The internship showed the various departments in the company, not just the one we had applied for. Would definitely recommend anyone to apply for them.

Cons

UL solutions is focused in certifications and safety, so if you are expecting projects involving development and design this is not the place, We had to do a breakdown on products and perform tests to ensure it meets standards of safety.

Pros

Strong brand reputation and credibility in the marketplace. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in sales, compliance, testing, certification, and regulatory industries. Friendly, knowledgeable, and collaborative colleagues who are willing to help each other succeed. Good work-life balance compared to many sales organizations. Stable business with diverse industries and customers. Professional development opportunities and exposure to complex customer challenges.

Cons

Typical large-company bureaucracy can slow decision-making and execution. Internal processes and approvals may require patience and persistence. Organizational complexity can sometimes create challenges when navigating cross-functional initiatives. Career progression may occasionally depend on understanding and adapting to corporate dynamics.
