Pros
-Due to union, health benefits available for part-time workers after a year. -Seniority system rewards those who've been there the longest -PTO roll-over -Great people interaction
Cons
-Due to union, salary is non-negotiable and hits a ceiling, (can't earn any more) after years of experience unless union contract gets updated. -HR personnel eliminated and not replaced during/after recession also union reps have many stores to cover, so no one to go to/represent you at the store level. -Strong resistance to department transfers and store to store transfers. -Revolving door
