Pros
Vulnerable children and young people receive learning support and can access psychotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy in schools. Great work is being done by teachers, learning assistants and therapists employed by the charity.
Cons
1) The management team are self-motivated and they favour some employees over others. 2)There is no ethnic or gender diversity at Senior Management level and there is a lack of staff diversity across the charity. Unlocking Potential is predominantly white female middle-class. This far from representative of the children, young people and schools in urban areas the charity targets. 3) EDI is spoken about, but not supported or practiced. 4) Individual strengths not recognised or encouraged, you have to blend in. 5)There are no opportunities for career progression or promotion if you are a teacher, teaching assistant or therapist (unless you want to solely manage other staff and work with children less).
