Pros

You are generally left to your projects once assigned and no one bothers you as long as you make your metrics.

Cons

Small organization that thinks its big. Incoming Commanders always seem to think they are going to be the first COL to pick up a star in Charlottesville so they set about reorganizing. This way they can claim they are doing something without accomplishing anything. Additionally the level of cronyism is staggering. Spouses will work in the same divisions where the other is in charge, unqualified individuals will ride coat tails of seniors around the building into other leadership roles and even after 20 years into breaking up the old boys club racism is still present in some Divisions. Honestly I've never seen more ladder climbers in senior leadership in my whole life.

Pros

INSCOM G-8 is like a family, it's the best place to work in the Army.

Cons

It can take a while to go through the hiring process, but it's worth it.
