Pros
It is steady work on interesting subjects. Overall the employees are good people who care about doing quality work. The benefits package is good, like other fed jobs. There's flexibility in work schedules, which is good. At tenure level (3+ years) there's as much job security as you'll find. The building is new (2006).
Cons
Very difficult to fire poor workers, so they get shuffled between branches and divisions. The commute to work is long for everybody. There's been problems with data security, while management has been trying to balance precautions with allowing workers to do their job, a few more incidents and a lot of the freedoms employees take for granted could be shut off, such as email and Internet access.
