Pros

Consistent schedule in terms of days worked and state time. Year round work (slow season last about a month with 8hr routes). Great pay (36.47/hr currently with 1.5 times for overtime). Overtime pay (average 5-15hrs overtime per week). Good management in terms of support. Opportunity to shuttle trailers at night Dow the road.

Cons

Disorganized. Have to let the office know to put sick or vacation days on paycheck. Holidays off only, not days after. If you are good at your job, they will consistently route you for 12-13hrs. Night routes average 14hrs routed. Work-life balance is easy and hard. Easy due to consistent schedule. Hard because each work day you just plan to be out for 14hrs. 8hr routes only exist in the slow season which typically last for 2 months out of the year. Overworked for sure but compensated very well for it. Split days off until someone quits or retires, which could be a while.

Pros

401k is good Benefits got more affordable

Cons

The biggest con is what must these big companies fail to focus on. Money. If to ask, even if you document measurable results ,that i spent a long time composing. You are told that other mechanics get the same or around the same pay. Then say no. Going the extra mile everyday, doesn't get you anything . Yes it's pay. We start a little better than market. But don't go up from there. Yes not right. Not we cannot get any overtime to make up for the lack of raise . It forces good mechanics out . Also they focus way to much on irrelevant things like dei etc .it should be the work you do not what you look like.
