Pros

US Foods is a great brand in the foodservice industry, and they are very forward thinking when it comes to the importance of innovation and marketing.

Cons

Overall, there is a culture of not promoting from within. In particular, senior executive positions are filled with people who are former colleagues of the CEO. When internal people apply for roles, they sometimes don't get the courtesy of a phone screen or even a personal message from the hiring manager that they've been rejected. People are overworked and are never coached for development. No one wants to talk about succession planning or what someone's potential at the company may be. I think it's telling that in the 4 years I've been there, I can't ever remember the name of any of the highest level HR people we have had on the exec team - people are simply not prioritized here. There is also a toxic us vs. them culture that is the field sales organization vs. the corporate office. Very little accountability is encouraged, people tend to make allowances for the field, which empowers them to be rude rather than collaborative.

Pros

Pay, work environment, Equipment, Shop, Management.

Cons

None. I would still be with them if there was a terminal near where I moved too.

Pros

Fostering career growth - opportunities for mentorships, online learning, shadowing, etc just ask your manager/HR. Limited supervision - I can come and go as I please as long as I complete my work Employee stock purchase plan Pay is competitive

Cons

Terrible accountability. Poor teamwork and poor follow through on actions to problems. Management needs training on accountability and coaching. Constant turnover of leadership with both firing and quitting. Uninspiring work environment. The offices are dirty, unorganized, cluttered, and outdated. Stained carpets everywhere and non carpet areas are from the 80's.
