Pros
You get to know people on your route. It’s nice bringing people stuff that they’re excited about. It’s nice working outside if it’s nice (not freezing, raining).
Cons
I’ve had cool managers but there’s a few that can make your life hell. You have NO scheduled off time, they might try to call you in on your days off or say you need to be in the next day. ALL the mail has to go out everyday, so if half the office calls in sick, that means you’ll be there until it’s done. Doesn’t matter if it’s dark out and you can’t see the house numbers, you’ll be there until they legally can’t work you anymore. You might work 12 hour days every single day, feel like you have no life, knee problems, back problems, severe carpel tunnel. It doesn’t matter. The hiring process takes maybe a month or two so good luck while you wait for more help to be hired. The endless overtime during Christmas can suck the soul out of you. I won’t do another christmas. You’ll hate christmas, you’ll hate Amazon, you’ll be angry at the people who order giant/heavy things every day.
