Pros
Uniqode is a growing startup, and the pros and cons reflect that stage. It really depends on what you're looking for at this point in your career. 1. If you're comfortable with ambiguity and like figuring out solutions independently, this can be a great place. The organization does favor ownership if you’re ready to take initiative. 2. You get exposure to a fast-changing environment and can learn from the evolution of the company firsthand.
Cons
Like many startups that have been in the same stage for a while, the cracks start to show. 1. Strategic directions shift frequently, which means there's rarely enough time to properly test or see through any one direction. 2. There’s no real growth path for employees - not just in terms of titles, but also in learning new skills or taking on different kinds of work. The default approach is to outsource anything new to an agency, rather than letting employees take a stab at it. The general belief seems to be: “we don’t have time for people to learn and then execute,” which can be frustrating for those who want to grow. 3. The India team often feels like an execution arm for basic tasks, while core strategic work and new initiatives are increasingly handled by the US team. 4. While there haven’t been active layoffs, there’s also no effort to backfill roles when people leave. It feels like a slow fade-out of certain functions from India to the US.
