There seems to be a good ol' boys club mentality in which men are given opportunities for which women should also be considered, but seem to be passed over. If you start out with the company in a support role, it is very difficult to step out of that and move to roles with more responsibility. You seem to always be seen as "administrative" support and nothing more.
