Pros

- Due to inexperienced Senior Management, you get career opportunities and responsibilities you wouldn't have the opportunity to otherwise - Work/Life balance is feasible if you set boundaries from the get-go - Outside of Senior Management, there are some great, talented people

Cons

- Inept Senior Leadership from the top down - There are still some people from Philly who are stuck in antiquated views of how media should operate thus are destroying opportunities to innovate - Little to no time given for researching kids + media so end result is out of touch - Toxic environment to the degree that HR and an outside consultancy have been brought in to teach people how to manage and lead - Great people being forced and managed out. Most people within the company blatantly admit what a mess the place is, which offers little to no incentive to work to make it better.

Pros

Environment where you get to wear many hats. Communication is better here than anywhere else I've worked. Kindness is in the DNA of the brand so everyone here is unbelievably supportive and good-hearted. Tactical and hands-on approach to research means many of your lunches will be spent learning something interesting!

Cons

The network is quick to adapt but the long development timeline for animation means it is always playing catch up with itself.

Pros

Passionate team members, exciting projects, easy to make a name for yourself because of how small the team, great benefits from NBC, recently with a new CD in place there is more flexibility and open-ness on creativity and ideas which wasn't there previously.

Cons

Due to gross mismanagement from senior-level people who had no idea what they were doing, they drove the department and it's future in the ground, causing everyone else to suffer the consequences once they jumped ship. Thus, the future of the channel is questionable amongst the entire team. No idea how to run a children's network. Just because you have kids doesn't mean you know anything about what THEY like. Just turning it into what YOU THINK kids like.
