Theme Park HR in disarray - Human Resources Manager Universal Studios Employee Review

Pros

Free park tickets, close to citywalk for lunch

Cons

The HR department at Universal Studios Hollywood has been turning over at an alarmingly high rate this past year thanks to mismanagement, being overworked and underpaid. The employee population behave like children and you feel like having to babysit instead of professionally develop them. It's frustrating to expend so much effort disciplining a minimum wage individual who can easily be replaced the next day by someone better. Having to work odd hours during certain seasons also does not help.

Pros

They are very helpful when it comes to your growth in the company. Benefits are good and pay is decent! Also why weekly pay and you can come in for hours if needed

Cons

Shifts can be short at least at my venue. The longest shift you’ll have is 8hrs, minus your lunch about 7.25 hrs. Sometimes you get shifts of 5hrs. Part timers don’t really get much benefits besides health and park tickets. No pto , no bereavement etc.
