Pros

- Building looks nice from the outside - Interesting products - High market potential

Cons

Treatment of employees by the management - Multiple employees received their notice within a letter at home without reason and without any warning beforehand - Vacation is often not granted or already granted vacation is cancelled last minute - Some employees are requested to work on weekends or answer calls at night, when they are sick or have already left the company - Management refuses to pay for overhours when employees resign - Not enough employees are hired so that pressure and additional taks rest on the remaining few - Hardly anyone stays longer than 1 year - Salary below average - Promised salary increases do not happen or are postponed month after month - Hardly anyone is ever promoted, if a higher position is open, external staff is hired due to the lack of trust in the existing employees - Good and ambitious employees are overloaded with every kind of work until they resign - Tasks are assigned to employees which lie far away from their responsibilities and capabilites Other cons: - Not enough parking spots - Management wants to decide on every little detail but often does not have the expertise to do so, which leads to wrong or delayed decisions - HR department is overloaded/ paralyzed

Pros

The CEO is a strong proponent of key employees meeting and working with each other at divisions in Germany, China and US. Travel has not been limited, so there is plenty of opportunity for cultural interaction and unique experiences. Since VIA is a very small company (LLC) you will get to exercise your skills far beyond what you were hired to do. Great people and a close knit community make for easy communication and problem solving.

Cons

Loosing a single customer can throw a monkey wrench into the best laid plans. Nearly all direction and approval has to come from Germany. Decision making at headquarters is slow and impacts customers. If business is down cutbacks are much easier to make in the US due to the fact that US law has the least protections for its employees. The company owner micromanages to the minutest detail. When an individual reaches their thresh-hold of exasperation they then quit, the company has a high turnover rate. Benefits are very limited due to the size of the company. Salary is offered at market value and then discounted 20% and called "variable pay". There are so many conditions and restrictions placed on variable pay that it essentially never gets paid out.
