Pros
variety in your day, great pto (25 days + christmas day, thanksgiving day, and new years)
Cons
Productivity standards are unrealistic and force you to rush through every visit, does not allow you to have personal relationship with patients and having a caseload of 75 pts does not help either .Most days I left work feeling guilty that I could not be there for the pts that really needed me because i had to meet my "quota". Churn out visits like you're on a production line. Company sees only profit margins and denies needed care to patients in favor of bottom line, requests employees to act in unethical ways (lying to recertify inappropriate people, admitting countless last gasp pts to bill medicare for inpatient or continuous level of care, denying needed expensive drugs and dme, using least expensive primary dx to be able to deny expensive drugs as unrelated). Management recognizes only negative actions of field staff. It seems they all attend some sort of training taught to beat down morale of employees to keep them in check. Staff act like beaten dogs, afraid to speak up or call attention to themselves.
