Pros
It's a job and pays the bills.
Cons
Where do I start... The management is not out to protect their employees, not even from their own employees/managers. The management is a joke. The owner thinks it’s a blessing to work there when all you is endure is verbal abuse by her. Not to mention any time you ask for PTO she thinks by allowing it she is doing you a favor and will try and hold it over your head. She is ALWAYS out to get someone in her office. God forbid you try looking for another job and she finds your resume. If you even post your resume you can expect to receive your last check shortly. The owner will give you ALL the responsibilities for a position, however, will not ever give you the title or the compensation for it. She will only give bonuses if SHE feels like it and not stick to her own guidelines for it and will make up an excuse as to why you did not get it. Not to mention the changing of commissions on people’s hard work. Once someone leaves, she changes it to herself to profit off it. If you don't know something and go to her for help, which she constantly rants about, she will then proceed to make you feel incompetent and will just criticize you for it and not even help you. Not to mention she will put things on your plate you have no experience in and expect you to figure it out and if there are any hiccups be ready for the verbal abuse that comes along with it. This place is worse than a toxic relationship. The turnover rate is insane. Is the three years I was there I had at least 15-20 admin assistants under me. She lies to win awards like “Best Place to Work.” Everyone in the office is scared to tell the truth in fear of losing their job. As an hourly employee she would expect you to be on call after hours and on weekends without the compensation. If you do not answer her call you better be in the hospital because there is no reason good enough for her. I should have left way sooner than I stayed but I felt stuck and incompetent which is what she feeds off. This is just some of what to expect while working at VACO. Also, do not try going to HR or the owners. They will forward EVERYTHING to her, and they do not do anything to help YOU. Save yourself the time and energy and do not even consider this place. It is sad that someone can really see no wrong in the way she treats people. She needs professional help. This is just a little glimpse of what it's like to work there.
