Pros
Vaticle is a place where you not only work, you focus together on a unified goal. One of the major themes at Vaticle is constant improvement and becoming the best version of you, that idea comes from the very top, and it’s wonderful to see a startup founder/CEO so focused on people’s growth in all areas of their lives, not just in the workplace. There’s also a general theme of healthy living and staying active, again Haikal leads by example here and genuinely cares about the well-being of everyone in the business. This is evident in the technical, self-improvement, and health books that are purchased for everyone to read. The technology we’re working on is incredible and the people we strive to hire and have hired thus far are world-class, in my field there’s always been a view that a job description is a ‘nice to have’ list and you should always be flexible with who you hire. However at Vaticle, a lot of time is spent on the job description, every word is deliberate and there’s no shift away from this, it’s harder to hire, but we hire the best. This leads me to the culture, much like the words in the job description, everything that we do in the business is deliberate and well thought out, its not just a strap-line, its the truth.
Cons
It’s a start-up, this means hunkering down, focussing, and building. When you’re building something it can sometimes take a lot of energy from you, however when you’re all working towards a unified goal, it makes the whole process rewarding, it adds another layer of drive. The company is also growing, which is a wonderful thing (especially in the midst of the great tech layoff), but this obviously comes with the growing pains of a business. You’re also pushed constantly to become a better version of yourself, to some, this may be too much, but for some, it may represent an opportunity to become the best version of oneself.
