Pros

There are great things about Versiti; the benefits are very good (except there is no personal leave); pay is in line with the market; if you want to grow and play an active role in your development, you can easily move up.

Cons

The biggest challenge is leadership at all levels. The senior leaders come from Big Pharma and think our workforce will act like pharma employees. There are of us who are hourly and cannot manage our lives and work at Versiti. I love our mission, but if I can’t take care of my family because of the schedule I am given, I will need to quit. I also see our leaders care about how many hours we work vs how much work is being done. This mentality is exactly opposite of where next generation companies are going. We have these “wellness” benefits, but we are not willing to be flexible with employees who might want to work less or not be given tons more than what they were hired to do for no extra money. The world is changing because of COVID; if we don’t address the needs of our people, we will lose some great talent across the board.

Pros

You literally are saving lives with blood donations.

Cons

The current leadership dictates how all the workflow is managed to a point of over-micromanagement and obsessive levels of narcissism from the leadership of the marketing department. Come prepared to have years of experience and be shifted under management who does not know how your role operates. Though Versiti serves five states, the focus will always be on Wisconsin, where the headquarters is, not on individual state needs. Leadership relies heavily on AI generated marketing materials and work products and goes against strategic marketing methods to support their home state, Wisconsin. While working here you can experience massive micro management as well as zero comprehension to your job role. If leadership does not like the way you are performing to their unrealistic challenges, they will eliminate your position and let you go, regardless of the time served and work produced at the company. If applying in an social media management role with this company, please be prepared to fill several roles in one. Content creation, yearly strategy, monthly reporting, community management for more than 30 active social media accounts, travel to WI and other states for content, video production, trend analysis, and anything they want to add to your plate. Diversity and inclusion has been all but eliminated by the company, which is made even more concerning because they deal with historically marginalized communities.
