Pros
I grew a lot at Via. I had the opportunity to take on all kinds of really interesting projects and saw a lot of growth in my role, my responsibilities, and even my pay-- in spite of the strange HR situation. I made some great friends!
Cons
I say this as someone who received three raises in a year and a half: the HR situation is deeply shady/unprofessional and everyone knows it, including senior management. Via has made a choice to not give raises for inflation, to not have a standard review/performance management process, to not engage in DEI best practices, and to handle leveling in a way that is deeply inequitable. When I delivered some feedback about this after many junior women came to me with concerns, I was told that I was not demonstrating positive leadership and that in order to advance at the company, I would need to get on board. I was a "top performer" until the moment I spoke out. While I left on my own terms, I watched people get pushed out in really bizarre ways for simply speaking up about company culture. It is common for people to be gaslit by HR when they raise a concern -- I was, repeatedly. This is wrong and more "top performers" should say something about it.
