Pros

good experience and exposure to lots of different fire alarm panel systems, especially notifier, etc. potential exposure to complex special suppression systems; lots of large contract with government, large corporations, etc. work is not super hectic has a substantial pipe fitter team, so thats something...

Cons

industry training is subpar, one on one training is non-existent due to the way jobs are scheduled, most experienced senior workers are not willing to show their craft, learning curve can be long and difficult. support staff/ office people are ineffective at their jobs, sometimes can be counterproductive and come off as cold and uncaring, generally not willing to help out, in summary= toxic environment HR and IT are in Montreal, so regional office don't get the proper support, i.e. pacific standard timer had to deal with eastern standard time, which makes things difficult. upper management is good, but not great, and are generally not willing to support professional growth in the fire protection field. pay is substandard compare to industry norm, getting full working hrs sometimes can be tricky to navigate. company feels cheap and petty overall
