Pros
We work as a team here. It’s very different from a lot of work cultures, because having a “me first” mentality isn’t rewarded. You could be the very best at your job, but if you don’t work well as part of the whole team, you’re not going to be rewarded here. It’s not about just one person, it’s about the collective, the whole. And yeah, that’s not the ideal environment for just anyone. Especially not in a society where everyone is raised to always be looking out for #1 and put their own needs and wants first. But because the company doesn’t operate that way, it makes for a much more enjoyable environment for everyone. You don’t feel like you’re in constant competition with your coworkers. And the kind of people who would brush a coworker off and not get around to helping them because they think their work is more important isn’t the kind of person who would be working here. Everything is intrinsically collaborative in nature so communication is key and meetings are held regularly. But when you work for a company that is so team-focused, these things don’t feel like they’re taking away from the work day, but adding to it. I can say from personal experience that it’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before and once I got used to it I honestly can’t see myself anywhere else because of it.
Cons
Everything I just wrote is a con for the wrong person. There are going to be people who apply to work here who would hate everything I just described. If that’s you, the solution is simple: don’t apply and keep looking.
