Pros
Store is close to home.
Cons
Poor training, I had to get my own food service card for handling food. If you are single parent they DO NOT CARE. you will be scheduled to work ALL holidays and most times they "conveniently" forget to pay you holiday wages. You have to hound management then wait a week or two for your holiday pay to be in your check! If they feel like transferring you to another store, they can do so on a whim. The insurance benefits are not good. The union protects and covers management -- don't be fooled. Also, if you get a $.10 per hour raise, the union will charge you $200 for this wonderful promotion to the next step. The store is open 365 days a year -- doesn't matter if you've been there 5+ years, they will schedule you for every holiday. Loyality and hard work is not rewarded. They don't want to pay full time wages or benefits, so you can be there FOREVER and never be a full-time employee. It's all about profit and greed! Also you will be fired if they so desire. They have the politics in place to easily fire an employee or the know how to make life so miserable you want to quit! They know how skirt around the union if you they want to get rid of you!
