Pros

Decent benefits, nothing else comes to mind

Cons

Let me preface this review by saying I am, in no way, given to heightened language or melodramatic observations. Nor am I a bitter ex-employee seeking to smear a company. I am simply making an effort to warn others about this company, based on my own experience. So here goes...this company puts the "cult" in "culture." From their constant repetition of phrases like "that's not the WELS Care way" and "Leadership says/thinks/does..." it is a bizarre microcosm of group-think, lockstep yes men. Or should I say, women, as the majority of the employees are women who all have an eerily similar look. If you are seeking a company that values individuality, constructive questioning, and outside the box thinking, go literally anywhere else. Critical thinking and independent analysis and input are discouraged in the strongest terms, as is work/life balance. If you plan on working here, you should be single, childless, pet-less, hobby-less and otherwise fully prepared to commit to being a full-on corporate drone. I was here less than a month, so if these observations are so strongly felt, I can promise you they are legitimate. Why was I let go? Absolutely no idea. None. Zero. No negative feedback; no corrective actions; no reason at all to think my livelihood was about to be yanked out from under me. When the news was delivered, no explanation was given, no matter how much I pressed for one, simply "not a good fit." The biggest slap in the face, perhaps, was the fact that, the day I was terminated, I was allowed to work an entire 10-hour day, apparently *as a good fit* until 5:01 pm when the workday ended, along with my "fitness" for the role. All that said, I highly suggest avoiding this company at all costs. They talk a big game about integrity, compassion, supportive culture, etc, but at the end of the day, what they are seeking is pliable, tractable, otherwise-unengaged-with-the-world employees who will toe the corporate line, never question anything, and be satisfied making the corporate culture their entire personality. Truly bizarre experience all around.

Pros

The interview process was well organized and professional. The team was welcoming and responsive. I received a formal job offer just minutes after my interview, which indicates the company makes hiring decisions quickly.

Cons

After accepting the offer, there was no proactive communication from the company. The day before my scheduled start date, I contacted the company to request first-day instructions and was informed at that time that they had decided to proceed with another candidate. While organizations may change hiring decisions, this change was not communicated to me in advance. Following this notification, multiple attempts to request clarification received no response via email or phone, and no explanation or acknowledgment of the situation was provided. Based on this experience, prospective employees may want to consider the company’s communication and follow-through practices when evaluating opportunities.
