Pros

benefits are decent. great downtown location.

Cons

senior management is so completely out of touch. they are personally offensive and do not care about a single individual in the place except themselves. employees are routinely told they are disposable and replaceable. salaries are frequently cut. job security is constantly threatened. nearly 50 percent of the employees working here in 2008 are now gone with no decrease in workload. they operate by the attitude that you have no where else to go. they lie, cheat, and belittle anyone who attempts or threatens to leave. it is an overall depressing and hostile place to work and i suggest anyone considering employment here run for the hills.

Pros

One of the few reasons I’d recommend working here is the salary and paid time off you get.

Cons

Working in such a high market in the news industry is bound to have its challenges, but Fox was a really hard place to work at. Not only do managers gossip and talk down on their workers openly when they’re not around, they also joke about the seriousness of a gruesome news story that always crosses the line, they swear they’re “there if you need them,” but once you ask them for help or clarification, they go out of their way to give you attitude and make you feel stupid. The men in that newsroom also make really inappropriate, weird comments and advancements. If you’re a woman, I would not recommend adding them on any kind of social media or giving them your personal number. I feel like the people in high management know what’s going on, and it just isn’t a priority to them. Same thing with being understaffed, and having to pick up another person’s workload, yet no appreciation is shown. Your schedule is also changed up quite a lot, some people end up working 8-9 days straight and even though it’s brought to the attention of a manager, they express how sorry they are but don’t actually change the schedule. The work/life balance isn’t good either. You can expect calls and emails outside of work hours, and if you don’t respond, you get passive aggressive comments about not staying in the loop. Overall, I don’t think this is a good place to work unless changes are made in management, and the work culture is fixed.
