Pros

Money, but taking "orders" from someone that maybe has a high school degree, doesn't know the law, doesn't understand pharmacology or care about patient's health, and is only worried about the bottum line has a way of fast making this a con.

Cons

Store manager should spend more time supporting the pharmacy, according to the stats 70% or more of the revenue is generated by this "department". After all, Store Managers have giant bonuses to protect (which calculates to 10-20 times more than the Pharmacy Manager), which if anyone is checking my math brings a Store Manager's gross salary (maybe, a high school diploma) to the same or higher gross salary than a licensed Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager (which minimally has 6 to 10 years of college education, including additional advanced degree work.) A little reminder, you need a licensed pharmacist to operate a legal pharmacy. Technicians can be incredibly valuable and cost effective members to a smooth running pharmacy operation, but are not legally essential. The pharmacist's job is not just throwing tablets in a vial, staring at a computer, and making telephone calls. Anyone working for this company ignorant enough to promote these stereotypes really has no business entering a pharmacy. Being questioned by management about patient care by someone with no healthcare background is shocking, my trying to explain( from pharmacology, law, ethics perspectives) why a pharmacist's decision should not be over ridden by them, and don't get me started about Management, NOT ME, repeatedly violating patient's HIPPA rights.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. All in whom your staff is. Operating photo was fun and building projects for the customers. Learning about pharmacy operations.

Cons

Work life balance and low pay for what is expected. Not having enough payroll to effectively run a store. My store ran FE on a 320 hour a week budget. That was barely enough to get buy and meet the expectations put out by the company. I was never able to keep a full leadership staff. When a leader called out, I had to stay. There were days I was called away from my own dinner table. SM's were forced to be in the pharmacy for more than half of their day regardless as to what is happening in the FE. I worked over 50 hours a week and barely got to spend time with my family. If I wasn't at the store I was getting a phone call and having to go back to the store.
