New and exciting work. The opportunity to work with so many different members on challenging projects that impact the communities they serve. I also appreciate the autonomy to do my work.

Staying competitive with compensation. Tough market.

The work feels like it matters and makes a difference in Washington. Most colleagues are very friendly and willing to help, which creates a nice atmosphere in the office.

Recognizing that this is a member-based organization, there could still be a better balance between staff and members. It sometimes feels like staff are an afterthought. There could be and should be better connection between members and staff. Currently there are no real opportunities for staff to engage with members. This is unfortunate, because when staff know members better they can do their jobs better.
