Title: A Nightmare Unleashed: Wavenet's Abyss of Despair Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ My recent stint at Wavenet was nothing short of a horror show, and I feel compelled to warn others about the abyss that is this company. The management, if you can call it that, displays a level of incompetence that is beyond belief. Attention to detail is not just lacking; it's nonexistent, as if it were actively avoided. Working at Wavenet, you quickly realize that you're nothing more than a replaceable cog in their malfunctioning machine. The prevailing attitude among employees is apathy, summed up perfectly by the recurring mantra, "It's not my job." This creates a toxic culture where responsibility is a foreign concept, and no one cares enough to make any meaningful contribution. Wavenet's grand strategy appears to be acquiring companies left and right, not for innovation or progress, but to cook their financial books. The lack of any semblance of structure is mind-boggling, and the company's idea of employee care after acquisitions is essentially non-existent. You're thrown into the chaos, left to fend for yourself like a sacrificial lamb. Adding to the chaos is the complete absence of planning for onboarding new acquisitions. Every month, like clockwork, a new company is devoured with no regard for a smooth transition. It's a sink-or-swim scenario, and drowning seems to be the preferred outcome. But the real kicker is Wavenet's blatant disregard for its smaller customers. Unless they have the potential to line Wavenet's pockets with millions in the first few months, they might as well not exist. It's a ruthless game of profit over people, and the casualties are the smaller clients who trusted Wavenet to care about their needs. In conclusion, if you enjoy a workplace resembling a sinking ship manned by a crew of indifferent zombies, Wavenet is the place for you. But for those seeking a fulfilling career and a company with a shred of humanity, steer clear of this corporate nightmare. Your mental well-being and career aspirations deserve better than what Wavenet has to offer.

Pros

Nothing - other than being able to remote work

Cons

Do not work here - the biggest issue with this company is the head of SOC, They do not treat the analysts with respect, and they perpetuate a burnout and toxic work environment. The pay is also incredibly poor and the company prioritises numbers rather than any development, T1's are hired and baited with the idea of promotion and dumped excessive work loads and given no training. The head of soc treats nobody with respect and does not accept any criticism at all. Complaints have been made by so many people as turnover rate is enormous and yet nothing is done about it. I was sworn at after a night shift by the head of the SOC and was called privately after I publically tried to argue in favour of something the head of soc disagreed with.

Pros

Lots of very nice and genuinely helpful colleagues that will take the time to help you. Training was good and offers a new starter a non rushed and comprehensive insight into using the tools you will be using for the job. Lots of opportunities to learn new technologies as the they have a large client base utilising multiple technologies.

Cons

Staff morale was low during my time of employment, unfortunately this really took the shine off for me. I was placed onto a shift working solo after just a two months of passing the training period, this looks to be a common practice for when cover is unavailable. For me this was extremely stressful and something i felt was unreasonable, my line manager offered some reassurances that they would attempt to ensure i was not working alone again, but i noticed other colleagues where still been placed on shifts this way afterwards. Seeing this i lost confidence that this was something they could reassure me of.
