Pros

Comparatively good pay for the job Opportunity for beginners to learn and grow in their career path Flexible working hours

Cons

Micro management from unqualified and inexperienced management team Non existence of a qualified Human Resource team Overt bullying and ultimatums to get staff to blindly follow dictated policies No mental health support for staff Prevalent gaslighting towards those who dare to point out the flaws in the system Decisions based on "hear-say" with very little or no open and authentic communication

Flexible working hours, regular work available, making a difference to people's lives as they can access free/open ended counselling, heart of what the organisation do is positive, occasionally offer good training.

Cons

Little to no support/or line management with caseload with complex clients, in-house supervision provided but not with a qualified counsellor, very poor wages for trauma support. Little contact with others within organisation - isolating role.
